Hiking Trails

Angora Lakes Trail
This is an easy trail to walk, but a rough road getting there. The road is steep & not suitable for large vehicles, but it makes for a great walk, even if you're not going to Angora Lakes. Angora Trail (1/2 mile) leads to 2 lakes surrounded by cliffs, great for swimming & exploring. To get there: (8 miles) Turn right on Hwy 50, go straight through 2nd light., turn left on Fallen Leaf Lake Road, turn left at the first paved road, & turn right on the first dirt road.

Cascade Lake & Falls
The trail is a gradual climb with fantastic views of Cascade Lake & Lake Tahoe, and leads to the waterfall. Remember your camera!

To get there: (12 miles) Turn right on Hwy 50, go straight through 2nd light, and park at "Bay View Camp" across from Emerald Bay.

Eagle Falls
This is just above Emerald Bay, only a 20 minute walk, and a great spot to be inspired by God’s beauty! The hardest part about getting there is finding a place to park the car. To get there: (12 miles) Turn right on Hwy 50, go straight through 2nd light, & just past the center of Emerald Bay where you see the Fannette Island, look on the left for Eagle Falls Picnic Area. Additional parking is available another 1/8th mile up the road on the right.

Echo Lake
This hike is a beauty - you can either walk to the top of the summit & overlook Lake Tahoe or walk along Echo Lake for several miles.

To get there: (3 miles) Turn left on Hwy 50, turn right after Lil Norway on Johnson Pass Rd, go 1/2 mile, take first left & follow road to parking area.
